Neil Havlik

Neil has worked in natural resources all his professional life. He received his B.S. in Biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, M.S. in Botany from UC Santa Barbara and Ph.D. in the interdisciplinary Wildland Resource Science program from UC Berkeley. His working career has included land use planning, environmental impact analysis and mitigation, natural resource management, property management and land acquisition. He held a variety of positions with the East Bay Regional District of Oakland, became Executive Director of a nonprofit land trust in Fairfield and held the Natural Resource Manager position for the City of San Luis Obispo. Neil is involved in numerous conservation organizations, most notably the California Native Plant Society, Sierra Club, Audubon Society and the Carrizo Plain National Monument Advisory Committee. Neil has been serving on the RCD Board since 1998.
