Jean-Pierre Wolff

Jean-Pierre joined the RCD Board in 2004 and brings a singular combination of sustainable vineyard management, science and engineering experience to the group. He is the owner and vintner of Wolff Vineyards, a family owned ecologically friendly vineyard and winery in San Luis Obispo. Jean-Pierre earned a degree in Electrical Power Engineering, an M.B.A and a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Management. In addition, he obtained his teaching credentials, holds an electrical and general engineering contractor's license and U.S. patents, and has published numerous international technical papers. His career included electrical contracting, general engineering, consulting engineering, researcher, adjunct professor, senior vice president for a Fortune 50 company and independent consultant. Jean-Pierre is a past recipient of the Central Coast Vintner of the Year Award, the Air Pollution Control District Green award and the County of San Luis Obispo Business Green award. He is a frequent speaker on sustainability, board member of the Regional Water Quality Control Board, SLO County Ag Liaison Advisory Board and Central Coast Wine Growers Association. He is a member of Cal Poly Center for Sustainability, Cal Poly College of Agriculture Food and Environmental Science Dean’s Advisory Council.
